Both can be enjoyed from a distance or from the cliff top of the caldera. But only a lake of laurels that exudes its beauty when we look at it from afar. And when it comes to real beauty then the pond lake is the best choice. Although it does not mean that the lake of buyan can not be enjoyed close up. In fact in the lake of buyan there is also a camp site as well as lake tamblingan. But people prefer Tamblingan lake because of its silence.

The best way to enjoy both is first we can stop at the first stopover on the lake Buyan while enjoying a warm drink with friends or people we care about. Once satisfied we can move to down to the lake Tamblingan. Bring also supplies because there is no restaurant or cafe around the edge of lake Tambilang. Only shady trees and Ulun Danau Temple in one corner as well as rows of wooden sampan adorn the lake side.

Culture and history info

History Told in the 10M to 14M centuries the environment of Tamblingan Lake is a settlement whose center is located in Mount Lesung south of the lake. For a reason the population then moved to four different areas whose distance is still adjacent to the area of the lake. The four villages are then called Catur Desa, which means four villages namely: Munduk Village, Gobleg, Gesing, and Umejero. These four villages have a spiritual bond and have the responsibility and obligation to maintain the sanctity of the lake and the temples that surround it. The name Tamblingan comes from two words in Balinese is Tamba means medicine, and Elingang means recall or spiritual ability. Narrated in Lontar Kutara Kanda Dewa Purana Bangsul that the people in the area are said to have been hit by epidemics. As a way out someone is purified then down to a small lake below the village to take water for medicine. Beacause of his prayer and spiritual ability the water was used as medicine and able to heal the village community. The word Tamba and Elingang then became Tamblingan. Culture and history image
